100 Days (1991)
Partho Ghosh - Director / Ram Laxman - Music
Dev Kohli, Ravindra Raval - Lyrics / Running time: 2 hours 40 minutes
As I was searching through the list of available titles on the Eros Entertainment site, this movie was always the first one. After seeing who was in it, I decided I would give it a try. We have a couple of veterans involved with this title.
First off (and the main reason I ordered this one) we have the lovely Madhuri Dixit. She made her first appearance on my site in Khal Nayak, opposite one of our other recurring favorites, Jackie Shroff.
Jackie has seen a lot of time on my site. So far he's been featured in Jung, Rangeela, Agni Sakshi, and Khal Nayak.
One thing has to be said before we go on with this one. There is a lot of repetition in this movie. I mean a lot of repetition. Whole bunches of repetition. They also repeat themselves a lot. All jokes aside, we see the vision that Devi has at least a dozen times, always accompanied by this weird synthesizer noise. It got a little grating by the third time I heard it.
This movie also had some of the worst subtitles I've seen yet. Many of which are unintentionally funny. I'll be sure to include those as we get to them!
Checking the rest of the cast, I don't see any other repeat performers.
For this outing, we have on the roster:
Devi (Madhuri Dixit) - A college student blessed with the powers of precognition.
Ram Kumar (Jackie Shroff) - Wealthy businessman who owns an import/export company.
Rama - Devi's sister, gets murdered. Oops!
Balam (Laxmikant Berde) - Jackie's absent-minded and easily confused personal assistant.
Sunil (Javed Jaffery) - Devi's schoolmate, and friend of the family.
Sudha (Moon Moon Sen) - Devi's friend and tennis partner.
Uncle Wujek (Ajit Vachani) - Devi's uncle. She lives with him in his house.
Security Officer Jagmohan (Jay Kalgutkar) - Scary looking ruffian who is up to no good! Used to work at the Bombay Museum.
Record Keeper Parvathi - A cohort and former co-worker of Jagmo's.
Blam! Hairdryer falls... for the fifteenth time... (sigh)
